Hello Stamping friends. Welcome to our September Blog Hop. I am sure we are all getting a little taste of fall with the changing of leaves, pumpkin spice everything, Carmel apples, cider donuts, and fall craft projects. I want to share with you a cute project that you will be able to use for Halloween and then modify it slightly for Thanksgiving and for Christmas. Using the Christmas Countdown calendar on page 38 of your Holiday catalog, I first finished my Christmas Countdown calendar—and I loved it! So while visiting with my friends, I said wouldn’t it be cute to make this into a Halloween countdown calendar and also a giving thanks calendar. They agreed it would be very cute and then elaborated you could do Valentines day, Easter, Lent, etc…. The list went on and on. You might be asking how can you do this? The secret is in the adhesive. Instead of glueing your squares down with liquid glue, dimensional, or tomboy—–you will use …
wait for it, wait for it, ok you will use Velcro. On the front side of the box I made my kit as it comes in Christmas, then on the back side I adhered velcro tabs to the box and then to the squares I cut out of designer series paper. Pretty simple. You already have the template for the square and I used the 3/4 inch circle punch to cut the tab out of the top. The rest allows for your creativity. I will tell you the Monster Bash Designer Paper works great for the front of these little boxes. The images with the characters can be cut out using the dies or if you dare by hand. Add some embellishments of ribbon and Monster Bash Enamel shapes and you are good to go. Now I did not add numbers because the box only has 25 squares, but who said you can refill some. I am sure you guests will have a haunting good time with it.
